By using the Aethopia website and app you agree to these terms.
Not an official warning service
Aethopia presents public meteorological data and adds its own estimates (for example signal probabilities and storm track projections). Those estimates are research in nature and may be wrong or late. For any decision affecting safety, property or travel, rely on the official warnings of the Hong Kong Observatory and the meteorological authority where you are.
Data sources and attribution
Data comes from the Hong Kong Observatory (via its website and DATA.GOV.HK), the Japan Meteorological Agency, the US National Hurricane Center / NOAA, Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and others. Each source’s licence, the disclaimer the Observatory requires us to display, and the items Aethopia computes itself are listed on the Sources and limits page. The Government and relevant organisations own the intellectual property rights in Observatory data; Aethopia has no co-operation with or affiliation to the Observatory.
Availability and liability
The website and app are provided as is, without warranty that data is accurate, complete or uninterrupted; when an upstream source is down the page says “unavailable” rather than filling in numbers. To the extent permitted by law, Aethopia is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.
Acceptable use
You may view and share Aethopia content for personal and commercial purposes provided attribution is kept; you may not bulk-scrape the data endpoints or redistribute data under Aethopia’s name. The Aethopia name, mark and self-computed content are protected by copyright and trade mark law.

How data is handled is described in the Privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Changes are dated on this page.
